Trip to Argentina

Apostolic visit to Santo Tomé

On June 13 and 14, Pastor Gilberto Souza, accompanied by some brothers and sisters from Cruz Alta, visited Santo Tomé, Argentina, to fellowship and serve through teaching, alongside Kevin and Thaís, who have been caring for and discipling those who gather as a church in that city.

During that time, the Word was shared regarding the realities of water baptism: we begin to live a new life, we are clothed with Christ, we receive the power of His resurrection, we are incorporated into His Body, and, by faith, we are also justified before God.

After this time of teaching, the brothers also went down into the water, responding in faith to the Word they had received and bearing witness to their understanding of the spiritual realities that baptism represents: a new life in Christ and inclusion in His Body.

The brothers sent to Argentina worked together in obedience to the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18–20), for after being filled with the Holy Spirit, we are sent to preach in Jerusalem (our city), in Judea, in Samaria (the surrounding cities), and to the ends of the earth!

Todos os Dias

On March 14th and 15th, Pastor Gilberto, accompanied by his wife Valéria and a group of brothers and sisters, was in Argentina ministering and edifying the brothers and sisters who meet as a church in San Antonio. It was a precious time of fellowship, in which we shared the Word and saw the fulfillment of a promise made to our pioneers in mid-1985: that God would use us first in our city and then send us to reach other nations, taking the Gospel to the four corners of the earth.

Jesus described the path of the Great Commission in Acts 1:8: first, Jerusalem; then, Judea; then, Samaria; and finally, to the ends of the earth. Jerusalem was the starting point—the place where it all began. Judea and Samaria represented expansion to nearby regions. And the ends of the earth pointed to something greater: reaching other nations, cultures, and peoples.

It is in this word that we have moved as a church “outside the four walls”: first, to love and serve our own city—our Jerusalem; then to care for the surrounding churches and cities—our Judea; to also look to our state and country—our Samaria; and, in God's time, to see the Gospel crossing borders.

We believe that the prophetic word shared at the beginning of this year—the year of multiplication—speaks not only of growth, but of sending. In these fellowships where the Church gathers, even if they begin as small groups, they will grow with the growth that comes from God (Colossians 2:19), through the foundations of faith (Hebrews 6:1-3), and will continue the Great Commission, witnessing to the Gospel in their homes, cities, states, and nations.

This is the promise of Acts 1:8: what begins in our Jerusalem will reach Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth. This testimony remains alive, and what began in our Jerusalem - Cruz Alta - continues to advance, passing through the state of Rio Grande do Sul, reaching San Antonio and continuing to the ends of the earth.

LIVRARIA SOMOS IGREJA
