Children's Ministry
"Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." (Proverbs 22:6)
The Importance of Building a Foundation for the Next Generation
When we look at the Bible, we realize that teaching has always been part of God's plan for His people. From the Old Testament, the guidance was clear: to transmit to future generations who God is and what He has done. The Scriptures warn us that, in the last days, seemingly harmless ideas would remove God from the center and lead man to build his life based on his own convictions. It is in this context that Paul warns in his letter to the Colossians, chapter 2, verse 8, that no one should be deceived by teachings that are not based on the Word.
In Ephesians 2:20, the Scriptures affirm that the Church is built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets; therefore, we understand that a generation founded on the Scriptures will not be carried away by any wind of doctrine. The teaching, reading, and constant meditation on the Word, as we see in Deuteronomy 17:19 and Joshua 1:8, produce the fear of the Lord so that they may know what they believe, why they believe it, and from whom they have learned it.
Today we have about 40 volunteers who understand this responsibility and are walking in the discipleship and foundation of the new generation. Our focus is not only on telling biblical stories, but on teaching the foundations of the Gospel of the Kingdom such as God's Eternal Purpose, the Life and Work of Jesus, the Door to the Kingdom, and the Foundations of Faith. Each teaching moment is designed as a time for children to understand the Word, take these teachings into their daily lives, and discuss them with their families. Therefore, parents also receive support materials, strengthening family worship and continuing what has been taught.
